Top 3 Do’s first:

1. DO use Social Networking sites and forums to check experiences of others

If you are checking if an affiliate program is good or if you want to get some feedback of other internet marketers, just make use of free social networking sites or free forums, for instance the biggest one, MySpace or internetmarketingforums.

In Myspace you can get involved in special interest groups which can provide valuable content and experiences. If you have a great Internet business idea you can use MySpace, Facebook etc. to build network of prospects and generate traffic to your website as many business people do nowadays. But be friendly, don’t use sales pitch.

2. Do start with small PPC campaigns and look for alternatives of Google Adwords

Not a lot of money to invest in your new internet business idea? Simply choose cheaper alternatives of adwords, for example Adbrite , Chitika or Bidvertiser. We use all three and I must say we get a lot of traffic for our sites of these advertising networks because they are still quite big.

Pay-Per-Click, may be time-consuming and expensive and bidding for top spots can be impractical due to high costs, so take it slowly and start learning about it.

3. SEO, Affiliate Marketing completely new for you? Start with an (online, cheap) marketing course.

If you are brand new in online marketing, I strongly advice you to take this seriously and see it as an official profession (which it is) and get the belonging knowledge. There are loads of free internet business courses/ebooks and tools out there (see as well our 4 part ‘Operation Affiliate Cash in 30 Days’ program which is part of our Free Affiliate Marketing System but you will need a step-by-step program or course which you should focus on.

I can recommend (because I used it myself -and still go back to their forums or tutorials when needed- are these two: SEOPressformula for Search Engine Optimization and Affilorama for affiliate marketing principles. This is a 12 week program which is full of rich valuable content.

Now we have some important DO’s, let’s check some DON’ts.

1. DON’ts: SPAM with links (very obviously but still people are doing it..), blackhat backlink strategies or some link exchange programs!

Use forum if you want to promote your product, service or idea but don’t throw many links and don’t do instant messaging or put not valuable conversation content. In view of smaller range of forums, you can be banned easily, so either carefully add (not many) anchor texts links or let yourself increase your authority and then wait until people start asking if you have your own website.

Make use of free social networking if you like, for instance the biggest one, Myspace or Facebook what we mentioned above. But be friendly, don’t use sales pitch.

No blackhat tactics obviously and some link exchange sites are doubtful (you can check forums again for reviews).

2. DON’t do everything yourself or manually…
The internet marketers who are ‘surviving’ this time-consuming business are wise enough to outsource. E.g. if you want to create your own eBooks but you are not a great writer, go to elance and let experienced writers bid on your proposal. Or get free PLR articles and re-write them.

If you have some money to invest, buy a spin/rewriter tool for your articles (we use Magic Article Rewriter/Submitter and it saves a lot of time). That means that if you are doing
article marketing and you need unique content, you better can spin your article and then submit it 500 article directories automatically and save then a lot of manual hours. Thus instead of managing your articles’ submission manually, save time and use automation tool as Magic Article Submitter who creates and verifies all accounts for you and submits your articles.

3. DON’t buy constantly new domains.. if you also can use it as a free subdomain
If you want to try out some new products or services, you can first check it on a free blog or use a subdomain of your general site (if you have one, which name suits).
There is a difference between subdomain and add-on domain. Your hosting party probably allows you to have unlimited hosting which means you can put an unlimited amount of add-on domains. For an add-on you need a separate domainregistration, but for a subdomain you don’t. E.g. we have several subdomains created on this site which on their keywords: http://registrycleanersreview.internetbusinessinfo.net is an example.

As you see there is more than just having a good Internet Business Idea. If you follow your heart and choose the direction which you like, whether it is Affiliate Marketing, eCommerce, starting membership site, eBay seller etc. Get the right and best tools and courses for yourself, stick to it, and once you are done then you may think about to change for something else but don’t switch until you are 1 or 2 months further. Then your Internet Business Idea can bring you profits and success. Good luck.
